MARTIN QESKU
I am a Sound Recordist / Technical Supervisor with many years of experience in the British broadcast industry.
I’ve worked in the UK on programmes such as The F Word, The Great British Menu, Time Team and Bang Goes The Theory, and also recorded sound abroad for long periods on projects like Around the World in 80 Faiths for the BBC, Bangla Bangers, Leepu & Pitbull, Unexplained Files and Gold Rush series 1-10 for Raw TV / Discovery Channel.
On the last ten series of Gold Rush, I have worked as a Technical Supervisor, setting up and managing main camera filming, sound, minicams, drones, radio communications, internet, and DIT.
A recent project, during lockdown, is a season-long documentary in Italy with Juventus Football Club for an Amazon Prime All or Nothing series. I was involved (with 2 other sound supervisors) in setting up and operating the fixed audio rigs in areas where filming crew are not allowed to operate.
I have experience working in remote locations like jungles, deserts, high mountains, at sea, and the frozen north.
Additionally, I’ve recorded and designed sound on several art installations.
I’m a member of the SabNetwork Live Crewing System.

AUDIO EQUIPMENT:
- Microphones for every recording situation – mono, stereo or surround
- Multiple radio mic systems for both domestic and foreign use
- Various multi-channel audio recorders and mixers
- Timecode equipment for precise syncing of picture and sound
- Separate sound recording with wireless send of programme audio to camera
- Producers/Directors IFB/IEM sound monitoring systems
- Walkie talkies / radio communications
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE:
- Setup and supervision of camera and sound equipment for multiple crews on remote locations
- Setup and management of fixed and mobile radio communications (VHF/UHF) systems
- Setup and management of satellite (Xplornet / Starlink) internet and long range (Ubiquiti / TP-Link) internet systems
- Using minicams (GOPRO, Marshall, Atomos, Toshiba, Panasonic, Sony) in various situations – inside/outside cars, motorcycles, heavy machinery, helicopters, light aircraft, etc
- Management of DIT workflow, systems, and personnel
- DANTE Level 3 certification
